Time to prepare your vessel for the coming season
With the snowdrops and daffodils showing their heads, Spring is upon us. And that means it's time to prepare our vessels for the coming season. To ensure you maximise time ashore, please book your boat for a lift out soon as our secure compound is filling up quickly!

Wil Williams retires
After 34 years of service at Hafan Pwllheli, we recently said goodbye to our Harbourmaster, Wil Williams. Having led the construction of the marina, overseen the expansion, and maintained the highest level of service for our berth holders, he quietly stepped down from his role, not wanting any fuss or fanfare.

As a team we are indebted to his passion and commitment to Hafan Pwllheli. His guidance over the last few years will help us maintain the marina's high standards under the direction of our new Harbourmaster, Sarah Hattle.

Contracts
Most of you will have received your new contracts for 2025/2026. You only have a short period to confirm your intentions so please complete the contract within the next week. Whilst some contracts have not been sent due to unpaid debts or relocation of berths, please check your junk folders if you have not received our emails.

Berth holders 1-hour special scrub
Following feedback from the Berth Holders Association on the recent changes to the discounted lunchtime scrub, we’re pleased to be able to offer the following service.

We are offering a lift out, wash by a Hafan team member (maximum of 1 hour) and relaunch. To benefit from this service owners must deliver and collect the boat. The cost is £16.29 per metre plus a £59.66 labour charge.

Tony's Top Tips
We’re introducing a new section in the newsletter where our Assistant Harbourmaster, Tony, provides us with some important Top Tips. These will usually relate to safety issues within the marina and harbour.

This time we concentrate on access to safety ladders. We’ve noticed fenders, tenders, trollies amongst other things blocking the safety ladders which are placed around our pontoons. This mandatory safety feature is in place to support anyone who unfortunately enters the water. So may we ask that you keep the areas around our safety ladders clear.

Launderette prices
From the 1st of April, our launderette prices will be increasing. A wash will now cost £5.50 and the drier cycle £3.50.

Preparing for the season
As we reported in the last newsletter, the team are busy preparing for the coming season. The annual jetwashing of the pontoons has started and will continue for the next few weeks. Please be mindful of where the team will be working. If you have a bike stored on our racks, please get in touch so we know your intentions. We’ve already had one bike donated to the local learning disability charity. Additionally, if you have a tender in the rack in the Outer Harbour it will need a sticker so it can be kept. We will be looking to clear the area in the coming weeks.
