Happy New Year and here’s to a year of good boating weather
In a blink of an eye the festive period is behind us. Hopefully you had a lovely time with friends and family. Now you can start to make plans to enjoy warm sunny days of boating with us over the coming year.

Fees and charges
Our new fees and charges have now been approved by Gwynedd Council with only the council’s inflation rate of 2.89% being applied to the 2025/26 tariffs. Electricity charges have been reduced a further 4.9%.

Please note that we will be implementing restrictions/additional charges on any extra vessel on a berth (if appropriate), whilst also introducing specific berths for personal watercraft (Jetskis). Any customer requiring one of these berths can now contact the Hafan office to arrange allocation and then arrange getting your versadock into place. No-one will be charged for the berth until 1st April 2025.

We are changing the Discounted Lunchtime Scrub service. In light of health and safety measures, no Hafan equipment, including the pressure washer or electricity supply, will be available. The service will change to a Discounted Lunchtime Hold with a maximum of one hour in the slings.

The trailer compound will also see charges being implemented from April onwards.

The full fees and charges are now on our website and we are looking to release the contracts for 2025/26 next week. Please keep an eye on your emails and check your junk folders. We are aware that some of our communications don’t always come through to you.

There have been some minor amendments to the Terms and Conditions so can we remind you to please make yourself aware of these before agreeing to the contract.

Fuel quay
Although we have structurally completed the work on the fuel quay, there are still some upgrades taking place behind the scenes. One is that the card payment machine will be upgraded to contactless payment, along with a new back office system. This will hopefully minimise any breakdowns.

This work is due to take place on March 13th 2025, which will involve fuel not being available for a short period. We apologies for this, but hopefully you’ll understand that this work is needed.

Spring clean
We’ve refreshed the road line markings around the Hafan which includes four clearly marked disabled parking bays. Over the coming months we are going to be working hard repairing, refreshing and cleaning ready for the start of the new season. Here are some things you can do to help us.

Bike racks
Are you currently storing a bike in one of our racks? If you are please make sure you contact us before the end of March. We have placed signs on the bikes asking you to do this too. We have several bikes in our racks which look as though they’ve reached the end of their life. Whilst customers are very welcome to store their bikes in the racks, we want to ensure the racks don’t become a bike graveyard! We will provide a tag for your bikes so we know which ones are in use. If your bike is not tagged by the 31st March 2025 it will be removed and recycled with a local disability charity.

Outer harbour boat racks
As with the bike racks we’re also doing a tidy up of the tender storage in the outer harbour. All outer harbour customers must make sure their tenders stored in these racks are displaying a valid sticker.  Tender stickers can be collected from the Hafan office. Any tenders left in the racks after 31st March 2025 without a valid sticker will be removed and disposed of.

Adverse weather
Following on from Storm Darrargh we are currently reviewing our procedures for adverse weather, particularly Met Office Red Warnings. Unfortunately we witnessed a small number of our customers behaving in an extremely unsafe manner during Storm Darragh and we need to ensure this does not happen again. Whilst our team are here to help wherever possible it is important everyone understands that people will always take priority over equipment. Once we’ve completed our review we’ll provide more details.
