Dredging update
Work to dredge the harbour entrance back to its design depth has been booked in for May.  It is hoped that by opting for a late rather than early Spring start, the schedule will minimise inconvenience to berth holders over the Easter holidays and make best use of the low tides. As previously, the dredging will be carried out using land-based machinery. We can report that the cutter suction dredging work undertaken at the end of last year on the main channel was a great success. The latest hydrographic survey confirms the channel is also at its design depth.

New Commercial Manager
After over thirty years in the roles of Marina Manager and then Harbour Manager at Hafan Pwllheli, Wil Williams will be stepping back from managerial duties. Taking over responsibility for the day to day management of the harbour and marina from early June 2022 will be Gerwyn Owen (pictured below), who has been appointed to the new position of Commercial Manager. Wil will continue to work at the marina in the temporary role of Deputy Manager to help with the transition period, sharing his knowledge and experience as required. Gerwyn is currently CEO of Welsh Yachting.

Team Leader
Andy Green (pictured below) has now been appointed to the new role of Team Leader in charge of all berthing allocations and berth movements. He will also be in charge of the marina maintenance and ensuring that all marina systems are functioning as they should on a day-to-day basis. Andy has been with the marina since 1995 progressing first to Haven Master and latterly Senior Haven Master.

Annual berthing prices frozen
The Hafan website has now been updated with all the latest berthing and services prices.  We are pleased to announce that there will be a zero % increase in annual pontoon berths (excluding electricity) for 2022/23. All  prices can be viewed on the website. Annual berthing licences will be sent out once the annual berthing prices have been confirmed. Please note that due to increased demand the marina is now almost full. If you do want a berth this year let us know as soon as possible. Berthing for visitors is also very limited because we are near full capacity.

Security fobs
Berth holders who have renewed their annual berthing licence for 2022/23 can now collect their new contactless key fobs to open the car park barriers, the pontoon gates and toilet facilities. The security system replaces the old card system. The fobs are individually numbered and assigned to each vessel. If you lose a fob kindly inform marina reception so that we can delete the lost fob out of the system and issue you with a replacement. Access codes can still be obtained for visiting friends and family.
Surviving the winter storms
We are please to report that no major damage was caused by the recent storms despite wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h. Rest assured the Hafan team carries out daily inspections on the pontoons and the hard standing in advance of any bad weather. We check mooring ropes, loose sails, covers and generally anything that does not look quite right.
