Merry Christmas!
The team at Hafan wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we hope 2024 provides plenty of opportunities for good sailing over the coming year.
Fees and charges
The 2024/2025 fees and charges have been released, applicable from 1 April, 2024. The fees have risen in line with the inflation rates set by the local authority, Cyngor Gwynedd. They are increasing by 8.01% for Hafan customers, whilst thankfully the cost of electricity charges are reducing by 42.5%.
The new prices can now be seen on our website. Our 2024 Tides & Tariffs booklet is at the printers. It should be noted that the booklet will not be sent with contracts again this year, as we continue to identify ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Contracts will also be sent electronically, most of you have been contacted to update your contact email address.
Contracts will be sent out in the New Year, please be patient as we manage the process. Once accepted, please sign and return as soon as possible, as any cancelled berths can be reallocated to our healthy waiting list. Some annual berth holders have outstanding charges from previous transactions, these need to be cleared before sending any contracts.
Secure compound
Work is now complete on phase 2 of upgrading the electrical and water points within the secure compound. The work includes new electric and water points as well as additional security measures such as improved lighting.
Hoist training
Last month saw the team go through ‘refresher training’ for operating the hoist. The aim of the training is to ensure safety and accuracy when operating the hoist, and all was signed off as competent operators.
Fuel quay
It has been a long process of refitting the new fuel quay, which is understandable given the complex nature of the structure and its components. We’re grateful to everyone for their patience, we can only apologise for the disruption, but the work will ensure a long term effective provision of the service.
We’re hoping to re-open the fuel quay in the next week or so.
Launderette
The upgrade of the laundrette is complete, and the cashless system operational. You can pay by card on entry to the laundrette, or downlaod the ‘AirWallet’ app to manage it on your phone.
Additionally did you know that we have a book club within the laundrette, so if you fancy a good read next time you're down, please help yourself to a book. Only stipulation is that you swap over books so that we can maintain a healthy library.
Coiling electricity cables
We have noted recently that several customers are coiling spare electricity cable around their electricity hook up bollard. Please could customers refrain from coiling live electricity cables as they tend to generate quite a lot of heat which could cause problems in your vessel or to the hook up bollard.
